Spick ‘N’ Span Services are fundraising for a well-known, very important cause, that is close to the Managing Director, Alun Eaglen’s, heart- Children in Need.
Alun say’s that “being a father of three beautiful children myself I fully believe that every single child deserves a great childhood. Unfortunately, the reality for some children is that this is not the case. Children in Need provides vital funding to organisations support children across Wales and the UK.”
Spick ‘N’ Span Services has been trading for 25 years this year and has gone from strength to strength thanks to the support of the local community who have helped us grow, but we now feel it’s time to give something back. Alun says that “charity is something that I have never really ‘done’ except for a £50 donation here and there over the years, so this is a new venture for me and my team! I considered starting small, and then I remembered just how important this money is to the children across Wales, so we decided to scrap that, and set our target at £10,000”
Alun is kicking of the fundraising activities in style, by skydiving! He says “having always had a fear of heights I thought that jumping out a plane would be the last thing I’d ever think of doing, but to raise money for such a great cause makes it a challenge worth taking on! The jump happened on 2nd August, and I have already received some generous sponsorships, so there is no backing out now!”. Following his skydive Alun is planning a charity auction event later in the year and a variety of other fundraising events with the team. He has also pledged to donate 10% of the company’s net profits to the cause.
So, what next following this year’s fundraising activities? Alun explains that “Spick ‘N’ Span will continue to raise money each year for a variety of charities decided by my team and our supporters. We have found fundraising for Children in Need great not only for the charity but also for myself and my team, it’s amazing the motivation that setting this goal has achieved. Working together for a common cause outside of the business itself has been fantastic and we look forward to continuing year on year.”
